I am old enough now...

It is a play about encounters, the kind that mark and change lives forever. "I am old enough now to become your friend", by Giuseppe Puppo, is brought to the stage by the actors of Scena Muta together with the students of the Liceo Palmieri in Lecce with the production of Vito D'Agostino. The title draws on the verses of Ezra Pound who sent this phrase to Walt Withman to ask him for a meeting. The same ones that in turn Pier Paolo Pasolini, in 1967, sent to Pound to ask him for an interview. And it all comes back on the stage of the Teatini cloister: poetic connections, extraordinary lives that brush against each other and cross paths, unique encounters, such as the one between Callas and Pasolini from which the very special relationship between the two was born, a youthful love that is consumed in the fire of political struggle.

The performance is dedicated to the memory of Giorgio Albertazzi. On stage: Dalila Grandioso, Maurizio D'Anna, Sandra Maggio, Ivan Raganato, Raffaele Margiotta, Maria Antonietta Vacca, Cristina Prenner, Marzia Giagnorio and Pier Luigi Quarta.
