Francesco Paolantoni/ O Tello o... io

The first scene opens with a company rehearsing to perform 'Othello' on stage. Rehearsals trudge on, especially after the news that the lead actor will not show up. 'O Tello o... io', a comedy of art with a fast pace and the mechanism of 'theatre within theatre', arrives on the stage of the Politeama Greco with Francesco Paolantoni, Stefano Sarcinelli, Arduino Speranza, Raffaele Esposito, Viola Forestiero and Felicia Del Prete. The actors in the story thus invade the theatre with psychological dissertations, personal dramas and various despairs, while the director, at the height of his despair, decides to stand in for the protagonist... without, however, knowing the part. The drama thus becomes comedy, moving inexorably away from the Shakespearean text.
