Graduation Ball

Inspired by 'Graduation Ball', the famous one-act ballet choreographed by David Lichine to music composed by Johann Strauss Jr. and arranged by Antal Doráti, is the end-of-year performance of the Balletto del Sud School. The end-of-year demonstration for the students of the 2022/2023 academic year of the school attached to the company directed by Fredy Franzutti is a real dance performance in one act, freely adapted from the original subject under the coordination of maestro Carlos Montalvan and with the participation of the company's soloists. The demonstration conceived by Montalvan is a transposition of the original ballet, set in a Viennese boarding school in the 1840s, on the day of the girls' high school graduation. It highlights the method of study followed at the Ballet del Sud school and bears witness to the technical level achieved by the students, who have won prizes in numerous national and international competitions. The choreographies are by Carlos Montalvan, Paolo Soloperto and Maria Chitanu.
